# Notifications and the mobile apps

How tiny+ tells you what's happened, in the app, by email and on your phone, and the apps for iPhone, iPad and Android.

tiny+ tells you when something that concerns you happens: a mention, a reply, a task you've been given, a post on a record you follow. Every notification appears in the app; some are emailed and pushed to your phone as well, depending on how important it is and what you've chosen.

## In the app

The bullhorn at the top of every page shows your latest notifications, with the unread ones highlighted. Each one names who did what, and links to the post or record. Opening the list marks them all as read.

## What you're told about

| When | Who's told |
| ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- | -------------------------------- |
| Someone mentions you in a post, or replies to your post | You, straight away |
| Someone replies to your comment, or to a post you follow | You |
| You're given a task or added to a meeting | You, straight away |
| A task you follow changes status, or a meeting's date changes | Its followers |
| A task falls due | Whoever it's assigned to, at 7am |
| Someone posts on a project, company or contact you follow | Its followers |
| A project, company or contact you follow changes, such as a project being won | Its followers |
| A relationship plan is started for you, or you're made its owner | You |
| You're asked to complete an assessment | You |

Likes don't notify anyone.

## By email

Under **My Settings -> Notifications**, **Notification Preferences** decides which notifications are emailed to you as well:

* **All emails**: every notification is emailed, apart from the quiet ones such as being added to a record.
* **Important emails only**: only the most important are emailed straight away, such as mentions, replies to your posts and task reminders. The rest wait for the daily digest.
* **Digest only**: nothing is emailed straight away. Instead, at 5pm in your time zone, one email lists the notifications you haven't read.

Whichever you choose, everything still appears under the bullhorn.

The same page has the **Newsletter subscription** switch for occasional news from tiny+, and **Mobile Notification Subscriptions**: the phones and tablets signed in to the app, each with **Unsubscribe** to stop push notifications to it.

[Scheduled reports](/guides/reports/scheduled-reports.md) are separate. Choose which you get under My Settings -> Email Reports.

## On your phone

The tiny+ app sends push notifications for the important ones: mentions and replies, being added to a task or a meeting, task reminders, and activity on the records you follow. Under **More -> Settings** in the app you can switch each of those four kinds on or off.

## The mobile apps

The tiny+ apps for iPhone, iPad and Android carry the news feed, your pipelines, your contacts and your tasks wherever you are, and bring the push notifications above to your phone. Where to get them and what they do is on [The mobile apps](/guides/everyday/mobile-apps.md).

## Outlook

The tiny+ **Outlook Add-in**, from Microsoft AppSource, shows you what tiny+ knows about the people in an email while you read it. The link is at the foot of the Our apps page. Contacts and calendar sync are separate; see [Contacts and calendar sync](/guides/integrations/contacts-and-calendar-sync.md).
