# Search

The search box at the top of every page, and the search in tables.

## The search box

Click **search tiny+** at the top of any page and start typing. After three characters the results appear below the box, grouped by record type, with the number found in each group. The page's address becomes a search address, so the Back button returns you to where you were, and a search can be refreshed or shared.

tiny+ looks for your words in each record's name, description and a few fields besides, such as a project's number and a company's address. Every word must appear, in any order, so *northgate library* finds the library project and not the whole council. Put a phrase in double quotes to find it exactly. An exact match on a name goes to the top of its group. Words of one or two letters are ignored.

**Options** limits the search to particular record types. Tick none and tiny+ searches everything: companies, projects, contacts, enquiries, team members, events, tasks, meetings, posts, emails, reports, lists, text blocks and docs.

Results come back up to 500 at a time, with the most recently updated first in each group. Deleted and archived records are left out, and so are confidential records, unless you're a Records Admin.

On a Pro account with [Ask](/guides/everyday/ask-and-ai-assistants.md) switched on, a search that reads like a question is answered by Ask as well, beside the name matches.

Press **Esc** or the cross to close the search.

## Searching a table

A table of projects, companies or contacts has its own box, **Showing projects**, at the top. Type and press Enter, or click away, and the table is cut to the rows containing your words. The words appear as a **Containing** tag beside the table's filters. This search covers more fields than the box at the top: a contact's email and mobile, a project's number and client. To clear it, reload the page.
