# User Permissions & Roles

Set different levels of access to tiny+ for your team members.

tiny+ has a small set of roles that control what a team member can do beyond their own records. Roles are given on [**Account Settings -> Users**](https://crm.tiny.plus/account/users): click a team member's row and tick the roles they should hold. Only Account Admins can give or take roles, and a change applies from the person's next sign-in.

## Without a role

A team member with no role can add projects, companies, contacts, enquiries, tasks and meetings, and can edit and delete the records they're assigned to or on the team of. They see every record that isn't confidential, and follow and post on any of them. They see fees only where your pipeline settings allow it, and they can't import, export, or add other users.

## The roles

| Role | What it adds |
| ------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Account admin** | Everything: account settings, users and billing, and every other role. |
| **Records admin** | Can edit and delete any record, whoever it is assigned to, and can import records from spreadsheets. Sees confidential records. |
| **Reports admin** | Can create and change [table](/guides/reports/table-reports.md) and [chart](/guides/reports/chart-reports.md) reports for the whole firm, pin them, and choose anyone's records in the [built-in reports](/guides/reports/built-in-reports.md). |
| **News feed admin** | Can edit and remove anyone's news feed posts, pin posts, and make and change channels. |
| **Exports** | Can export lists and reports to Excel, Word or PDF. On its own this is enough to export all your project, company and contact data, so give it with care. |
| **Custom reports** | Can open the firm's shared reports, and be emailed them as [scheduled reports](/guides/reports/scheduled-reports.md). On the Pro plan. |
| **AI seat** | Can connect an AI assistant to tiny+, and design reports and automated actions with AI. Seats come in packs; see [Ask & AI Assistants](/guides/everyday/ask-and-ai-assistants.md). |

An account admin holds every other role, so their chips show ticked and locked. The AI seat is separate: account admins need one too.

You can't change your own roles, except to take an AI seat; another admin can.

## Permissions for everyone

The bottom of the Users screen has three switches for what team members can do without a role.

| Switch | What it allows |
| --------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Company-wide project pipeline** | Everyone can open the whole firm's project pipeline, not just their own records. |
| **Company-wide client pipeline** | Everyone can open the whole firm's client relationship pipeline. |
| **Change custom report filters** | People with the Custom reports role can adjust the filters of the reports they open, for themselves. |

<figure><img src="https://1957838173-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F-LnoXYnzHXoSKmkXmIHw%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-2f024a26f05dc5a9cc79f974f1d3dec4e999fc54%2Fusers-permissions.png?alt=media" alt="Permissions for everyone: three switches for the company-wide project pipeline, the company-wide client pipeline and changing custom report filters" width="979"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Whether fees show in the pipeline views is set on the project pipeline's page under Account Settings -> Pipelines, in its **Fees** card: to everyone, to account admins only, or to nobody.
