# Your password and signed-in browsers

Change your password, see how many browsers are signed in as you, and sign the others out.

Your sign-in is yours to look after. Everything here is under **My Settings -> Security**, reached from the cog at the top right.

## Changing your password

Type your current password and press **Continue**, then choose a new one. A password needs at least six characters and the meter must rate it *Average* or better; longer and less guessable is better still. Saving it signs out every other browser that was signed in as you.

If you've forgotten your password, use **Forgot your password?** on the sign-in page. The email tells you how to set a new one.

## Staying signed in

**Stay signed in?** on the sign-in page is ticked by default, and keeps you signed in on that browser for a month from your last visit. Untick it on a shared computer: you're then signed out about an hour after signing in, or when you close the browser.

After too many wrong passwords in a row the sign-in page locks you out for a while.

## Signed-in browsers

**Currently authorised browsers** counts the browsers and devices that are signed in as you. If the number is more than you expect, or you left yourself signed in somewhere, press **Clear all login tokens**: every browser but this one is signed out within a few minutes.

That doesn't reach apps you've connected to your account, such as the mobile apps. Those are listed under **My Settings -> External Apps**, where each has **Deauthorise this app**.

## More protection

[Two-factor authentication](/guides/how-tos/enabling-two-factor-authentication.md) asks for a code from your phone as well as your password. Firms on Microsoft 365 can sign in with Microsoft instead, through [Single Sign-On](/guides/advanced/single-sign-on-azure.md).
